FAQs

Where is your office located?

Our office is in Beverly Hills. We are located on Wilshire Boulevard in between La Cienega and San Vicente.

How much will it cost for you to represent me?

That depends on what type of case you have and where it is located. Certain cases, such as murder, rape or other felonies, are more expensive than misdemeanors, such as DUI or certain domestic violence charges. Certain Courthouses require more travel time. Others can take more time to have a matter resolved.

Should I hire an attorney?

Yes. Any criminal charge is very serious and could become more serious during the course of proceedings. There are many pitfalls in doing, or not doing, the right thing at the right time that can cause you severe harm. Read More...

If I hire you, who will I be hiring?

All written retainers will be with The Piper Law Firm.  David Piper will be the experienced, knowledgeable attorney who will be hands on through every stage of your matter.

What should I look for when hiring an attorney?

You should hire an attorney who is tough, aggressive and smart.  The lawyer you hire should also be willing to put your needs ahead of his own. You also need someone who will be forthright an honest with you; someone whom you feel comfortable in giving control of an entire aspect of your life.  Read More...

Can I get a Public Defender?

Only people who truly need the services of the Public Defender should use the Public Defender as their attorney.  The Public Defender is there to help those who have no money and no assets.  The Public Defender's Office is also overworked.  Many of the Public Defenders simply do not have the time to give a case all the attention it deserves.  Further, the Public Defender often places inexperienced lawyers in many of the most significant stages of the process.

I am not guilty, why do I need an attorney?

Innocent people need an attorney more than anyone.  The system is not set up to be as simple as going to Court and telling the judge your side of the story.  The Judge is limited in when, how and what he or she can hear about your case.  Therefore, in order to favorably resolve your matter, you need someone with experience, dedication and understanding on your side.
