David  Matthew Piper is the founding partner of The Piper Law Firm.   Before starting the Piper Law Firm, Mr. Piper was a partner at one of Century City's oldest and most respected criminal defense firms.  His practice has included high profile cases and complex white collar matters.

 A veteran of numerous trials, the range of cases he has experience in include driving under the influence, murder, sexual offenses and embezzlement.  His clients have had matters before both the state and federal courts, as well as before many administrative agencies.  His ability to obtain results, while giving personal attention to each of his clients, has earned him an excellent reputation among his peers and opponents.      

After graduating summa cum laude (top 5%) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, he attended American University's Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C.  While there, he pursued a course of study that focused on his passion, criminal law.  He graduated cum laude (top 15%) from this top-tier, American Bar Association accredited school.

While in law school, Mr. Piper was permitted to participate in the Criminal Justice Clinic. Through this Clinic program, he represented clients in court and conducted his first trials prior to graduation from law school.  He was also heavily involved in the Moot Court Program and was selected to represent the law school at a national competition held in New York City.

During the course of his legal career, Mr. Piper has dedicated himself to representing the accsued. His cases have included domestic violence, driving under the influence, white collar, juvenile, drug offenses, sex offenses, property crimes, assault, murder and the Death Penalty.  He has conducted trials in the California Courts and has previously prepared Appeals on behalf of his clients.  

Mr. Piper has practiced before most of the Courts in Southern California.  The Courts he has represented clients before include Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties and the Federal court in the Central District of California.   

His practice has also led him into successfully arguing for his clients in Administrative hearings before various governmental agencies.   The agencies he has appeared before include the Department of Motor Vehicles and the State Board of Pharmacy.  His successes before these agencies have allowed many of his clients to obtain or maintain their professional licenses and driving privileges.

With his practice limited to representing those who face accusation by the government, Mr. Piper is determined to fight the State and Federal governments to achieve the best results possible for his clients.  Mr. Piper has dedicated his life to protecting people from the actions of the State.  He has spent years perfecting this craft and has mastered the representation of the criminally accused.
